The server portion of the STORServer appliance is the computer system that connects together all the hardware storage resources in the appliance, connects to various networks and frameworks using various network adapters, and executes the software platform that manages data movement to and from all the other systems in the network or framework.

The STORServer Backup Appliance is not just another server added to your datacenter server farm. The V2 Backup Appliance interface, in fact, does not require a keyboard, monitor or mouse (KVM) in order to run the appliance. Using Windows Storage Server 2003, the STORServer is a headless appliance. You browse through any IP connection to the STORServer interface.
